Slater is a privately operated AI assistant.
Self-hosted, single-user, and not offered as a public service. This page exists so that anyone reviewing its Google account access can see exactly what the application is and how it treats data.
What it does
Slater is a personal assistant application that runs on hardware owned and operated by its sole user. It answers questions, organizes notes and reminders, and — when the user explicitly connects a Google Calendar — reads calendar events so the assistant can answer scheduling questions such as “what is on my calendar this week?”
It is not a product: there is no sign-up, no dashboard, and no open API. The assistant's own tool endpoints require a device credential, and exactly one person — the operator — holds one.
How it uses Google data
- Google Calendar access is read-only. Slater does not create, edit, move, or delete calendar events.
- Calendar data is displayed back to the person who granted access, and is used only to answer that person’s own questions.
- Calendar data is not sold, rented, transferred, or shared with third parties.
- Calendar data is not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, and is not used for advertising.
- Access can be revoked at any time from Google Account permissions.
Slater’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Operator
Slater is operated by Darryl Dawkins, independently of any employer or client. Contact: [email protected].
Where it runs
All processing happens on the operator’s own server, which is not publicly reachable except through an encrypted tunnel. This website is static and separate from the assistant: it holds no user data, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics or third-party scripts.
